One of the best safety tips is simply to be more aware. One of the biggest reasons that we do not pay more attention is that we forget. So in an effort to keep this in the front of our minds, we have come up with a way to help us remember. It is really very simple and will only cost pennies. Tie a red ribbon on your keychain…on your purse…cell phone….wherever you will be most likely to see it.
Updated: Two years later, I have to say this is a great reminder. Mine came off, and I need to get another one, but it is a GREAT reminder. Even though I need to replace mine, I am pretty conditioned to associate the keys with being watchful. lol I hadn’t expected that.
I always take my keys out before I leave a store (which everyone should be doing…don’t be fumbling for these at your vehicle). It was a great way to give me that extra little reminder to be watchful and careful before I left a store.
